I'm on a hot streak. I have just enough dexterity in my wrist to manipulate the fabric now. So i keep sewing and sewing making up for lost time i suppose. I've made 3 dresses in the past week, there is a 4th with adorable ric-rack trimmed sleeves with in striking distance of being finished. You may notice this is one of the dresses I mapped out a few posts back. I thought it would be qurky and cute in theory. I love it more than I thought. The colors are so cheery and this dress is great for riding around on my bike.
This is hazel by Colette patterns. The fabric is cameo in sprout by Tula Pink. It is part of her Parisville collection that tells the tail of Marie Antoniette. I used almost all of the 2.25 yards I ordered. I did however recut a few pieces trying to get a full cameo on each of the front and back bodice pieces. A huge bother but so worth it on the finished object! I also left out the pockets I didn't like the bulk they added to the skirt. I am glad I decided to cut the fabric, there won't be much time left for wearing this dress sans cardigan. I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited to wear this with some dark burgundy tights and a yellow cardigan this fall.
This past week I bought a new basket for Lavinia, (the walt 151) Collin gave her a good washing the other day. She looking good and that little metal basket serves me much better than the creaky wicker one.
