Spring has hit portland. The Sun has been shining the majority of the last few days. Sunshine + a new sewing machine = tote bag mania! I sewed the cute little chevron clutch for my iPad and laptop. So keeping with the theme of navy and white I made this cute little tote.
It's a little crooked around the top. But getting used to the slightly wider free arm on this machine most likely accounts for that. Hear is a peak at lining.
I Had thought I would make the bag reversible so I could use the cute white rope side as well, then I realized I would never use it for fear of it getting dirty.
This is the first time I have pinched off the corners on a tote to make a flatter bottom. I think this is a technique I will use on future totes as well. Here is all the specific fabric details
Outer Fabric: Dear Stella - Anchors Away - Sailboats (Navy)
Lining Fabric: Dear Stella - Anchors Away - Ropes (white)
Ribbon (unknown SORRY)
Straps 2 inch Red Cotton Webbing
All of it was purchased at Bolt in Portland, OR
Started sewing together my Meadowflower tote last night. Hurray for sewing mojo! Maybe I'll tackle taking in that gingham skirt this week So I can wear it while the weather is still sunny!
