January 2014 Sewing Goals

January is in full swing, and after I finish up the re-arranging of my sewing room tonight. I will be ready to settle down and get some sewing done.

To Market Tote  – By Rebecca Reid.

Have you seen this adorable new-ish quilting magazine, Love Patchwork and Quilting? It’s a great modern quiting magazine that gets me excited to give quilting a try. This tote Seemed like the best way to dip my toe into quilting. So I thought it would make yet another great knitting bag. (I know i just made a knitting bag but a girl can never have too many IMO.)

I had bought this bunch of fabric to make covers for my ikea cubes. After I decided I liked the look of the solid cubes this poor fabric has languished. I think that it will make a lovely tote.

I plan on using these for the solid contrast and the lining.

Escape Artist Bag- Anna Maria Horner

After making Anna Maria Horner‘s lovely Painted Portrait dress. I have fallen quite hard for her patterns. The instructions are clear and not overly complex. I Really fell in love with this big tote bag when I saw it on her site in her new fabric line Dowry.  I knew I had to make one in another colorway  I also think this bag would look stunning in Tula Pink‘s Acacia line.

Clothing

Colette’s newest clothing pattern for women Zinna is the perfect skirt for all weather sewing. I have seen some lovely one made of quilting cotton and of Voile and even wool suiting. however the one that gets my heart in a flutter is the lined chiffon version.

It is defiantly cake sewing but the chiffon and how much I will wear it makes it seem more like frosting sewing. I can see these getting rocked with lots of my cabled sweaters and even cute lace tanks when spring and summer come.

Darling Ranges Dress

I have been in love with this pattern for quite sometime. Unfortunately for me it has been out of stock for months. Well it was just released in PDF form so I can finally make this adorable dress

I think this would be the cutest dress for winter with tights and summer for campfire days! Seriously how cute is that canvas fabric by Jack and Lulu?

Can you tell how excited I am that Radent Orchid is the color of the year? Seriously I can’t wait to make a bunch of purple hued things. This Joel Dewberry  rayon is perfect for this dress and seriously the colors are TDF in person.

6 items It’s a bit of challenge. But I am up for a challenge. I also am at the point where i am kind of sick of looking at the clothing in my closet.  Also, Me Made May is coming up. I’d love to have a bunch of new items to rotate into that!
