This is a Test: The Date Night Dress

Say hello to The Date Night Dress by April Rhodes. April graciously gave me the pattern to test.  So I couldn’t be more pleased to share this new pattern with you today. This dress is modern and fun. As always the instructions are clear and full of pictures to guide you.  I always sweat setting in sleeves but the construction on this dress is brilliant. How stunning are those sleeves by the way? Swoon!  My only advice would be to invest in an EZ-hem. It makes curved hem of the sleeves so so much easier. The other lovely part of this pattern is that it comes with a simple slip pattern as well. the slip doubles as the most comfortable nightgown! This version is made out of Denise Schmidt in Coterie in the cranberry colorway from the Greenfield Hill Collection. The slip (not shown, but I will soon) is made out of the Lady Aster print in the same cranberry color. I picked both of the fabrics up at Modern Domestics here in portland! If you have not stopped in to check out their fabric selection you are missing out!

  1. I like the look of flutter sleeves that are a little longer, so long as they don’t make my shoulders look bigger. This pattern looks like it would work well. Thanks!
