Hello lovelies!
I hope everyone is had a fun weekend. I had a blast at the PNW Blogger meet up! today I am STILL recovering from a fashion related injury. who knew metallic thread would give you an blister on the ball of your foot. Silly tights. Anyway, Having sewed all but one of my early fall dresses. I thought it would be a good use of my time to plot a sewing course for late fall!
The Washi Dress by Made-by-Rae
I love the pleats in the front! they make for an amazingly flattering waistline! the back of this is gathered with elastic thread! something I’ve never done before but I am anxious to try! This is another dress like the hazel that I can see myself making again again again. It is so tempting to make that dress out of the washi fabric. SO cute but here are the few fabrics I have picked out.
First off there is the Woodgrain Fabric by Joel Dewberry. It’s from his Aviary2 collection. That whole collection screams sew me in to gingers/hazels/ and wash dresses but if i had to choose one it would be this lovely wood grain.
Of course once I saw this lovely fabric I had to make it mine! with two little dachshunds at home, how could i resist. It is by Michael Miller and i don’t think you can buy it anymore 🙁
Primrose in Poppy by Joel Dewberry! I love his whole notting hill collection I have plans for a ginger out of one of the plaids but alas this is on pre-order I just hope it comes in soon!
So I made a wearable muslin for Sew Collette. But never got around to making the actual dress.
Marie Anne Horner is another fabric designer I have a huge crush on. I would sew so many hazels and washi dresses from her fabrics. I want to make the short sleeve version of Peony with a belt in blue and in yellow.
I love the Heather Ross’s guitar print. I would love to make a slightly fuller skirt that could be worn with a petticoat for when Collin and I have shows.
The final dress of the fall is this lovelySuzanne dress by Citronille from france. I saw this forever and a year ago when I was only dreaming of sewing on Posy Gets Cozy .
I plan on making this of these in shot cotton in steel and pea soup
My other goal is to create outfit posts for all the lovely dresses I’ve sewed so far! I am oh so silly about my handmade dresses, but the meet up saturday gave me a boost of confidence that i can make cute things from the insane fabric choices i sometimes make. Hope you all have a lovely week.. I’m of to get my Washi dress pattern printed and start working on that muslin.
You poor thing! I think craft related injuries are the worst and they linger.
I can't wait to see what you make 🙂 and take lots of photos!
