Last week I sewed 2 dresses in two days. It was nice. They both fit awesome… and are quirky and adorable and unique. Both patterns I sewed are making an appearance here. Both The Macaron and the Hazel are such amazing patterns!
Hazel fits me so well and could be dressed many different ways I feel like there will be at least a weeks worth of them in my closet before I get sick of making them. I have a few solid colored ones plan (brown, aqua, Navy) but solids are boring to look at so here is some of the prints I have picked out.
The Tree Of life in Honey By Tula Pink This screams fall, I want to wear it with red tights and an orange sweater or with a cute brown button up under it or my cream peter pan collared shirt… the list goes on… i need to pick up this fabric ASAP!
Cameo in Sprout by Tula Pink I have this on it’s way to me! I cannot wait for it to get here so I can start cutting into it.. I plan to center one of the cameos on the bodice if possible!!
I was shocked how much I liked macaron. The side zipper is a bit strange but I hardly notice it now. I love the sleeve details on this dress.. I think it will be one of my favorites to wear with duck boots when it starts to rain.
Crossroad to Texas by Betsy Chuchian (blue hill fabrics) With Orange Kona Cotton for the contrasting color. I seriously love this combo. There is something so warm and chic about it. I have a great dark red scarf that I plan on wearing a lot with it.
Coven in Absinthe by Tula Pink with light pink kona cotton. I have some reservations about making this dress. The moment I saw this fabric I knew I wanted to make this into a macaron… Halloween is one of my favorite holidays but finding fabric that isn’t ugly is so hard. While poking around for tips on fitting the top of my trial macaron. I found that Sara from Sew Sweetness already made it black and purple.. 🙁 Wamp… Oh well such is life.
Cambie Dress by Sewaholic I love the june cleaver feeling of this dress with the “sleeves” and the optional full skirt. I foresee myself making both options but I would like at least two of the full skirt version first!
Bouquet in gray by denyse Schmidt. I am obsessed with flea market fancy… I have two purses a knitting bag and a bunch of fat quarters of the old and new fabric. There is something so delightfully happy about this fabric.
Squrrel in sunset by Tula Pink This post should be titled This fall I give Tula Pink all my money… but dang if she doesn’t make such adorable prints. Please tell me who wouldn’t want a dress with squirrels on it?
