I Rode My Bicycle Past Your Window Last Night…

I am sure that the FedEx guy is pretty fed up with my house over the past ten days. First 2 new iPads on launch day. Then two days in a row two giant Public bike boxes showed up My boyfriend’s on Tuesday and mine on Wednesday. It’s kind of impressive to receive a bike in the mail.

Bike Unboxing!

So Public Bikes come almost all the way assembled. All you have to do is attached the pedals and the handlebars. They send you these super cute orange tools.

Here’s Daisy in all her glory hanging out in Pioneer Square in downtown Portland on Friday.

It snowed the night she arrived. I had about a 10 minute ride before it started to sleet on me. Since then I have taken her out for about 4-8 miles of riding a day. Every time I’ve taken her out someone has asked me about her or told me what a beautiful bike she is. I agree she quite pretty in person. Pictures I am afraid just don’t do her justice. An older Italian man even shouted bella bicicletta as we rode by him downtown on the way to the farmers market. I think that may be my favorite complement!

Before I could do any hardcore city riding I needed a new helmet.  I went out and got one by local company Nutcase.  Friday was a blast we rode downtown to eat lunch at the food carts.  The thing I love the most about biking is that I see a different side of a city I have lived in for two years.  My second favorite part is that it is something fun that Collin and I can do together and get healthier at the same time.

Crossing the Broadway Bridge to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. I made it almost all the way to the farmer’s market. It was just the last set of really steep hills that did me in, I had to walk the bike up the last three. Not bad for someone who hasn’t been on a bike in almost 18 months!

Saturday Night a stop at Back To Eden bakery was a must… nothing like sweet vegan treats after a long day of riding.

My favorite sandwich shop with my favorite guy and our bikes #bike #publicbikes

Today we stopped at our local sandwich place. (seriously these ladies make amazing agave fake ham)

Say hello to daisy. My new @publicbike

I waffled for quite awhile about if I needed a new bike or not. Now that she is here I can’t imagine what I would have done this summer without her. She the first bike since my very first bike as a kid, that I am looking for reasons to ride her. I can’t wait to see what adventures she brings me to in the future. I am sure you will see a lot of her sunny frame around these parts.
